Race to Gamerscore: Part 2

Not too long ago I finished getting all the achievements in Spider-Man: Friend or Foe. I may not feel more like a badass, but I feel a sense of accomplishment. Some achievements really need to be more achievable, I don't think I need to play the last level over and over until I have enough points to fully upgrade all my characters. No matter, I can now move on to use Spider-Man in Marvel Vs Capcom 2 which leads into the newest edition of Race to Gamerscore.

Part 2 - Downloadable Titles

There are a lot of downloadable games that I own and I don't play very often. This blog will give me an excuse to replay some of the games I used to love and find out about the magic that made me play in the first place. Recently I had sank boatloads of time into Shadow Complex, an original game by chAIR, and published by EPIC, this a Metroid-Vania style game where you traverse through an underground complex, discovering the plans of those who dwell inside. I am one achievement away from getting a full 200 and after I get that, I think I might just keep playing it. Another game I want to polish off is Galaga, all I have to do is, clear a Challenging Stage, defeating every enemy. I may have to use some secret tech I learned from the Game Master Arino.

Let's see what comes of getting to know the games of old.

Race to Gamerscore: Part 1

After being let into the Xbox preview, one feature has stood out to me a lot lately. There is a listing of all the games I have 1000 achievement points (or at least maxed out). The only games there are Puzzle Quest which I love dearly, and Avatar (got it through Goozex, I couldn't resist). I admit it, I love achievements, I love the sound of getting them, but I'm terrible at finishing games.

What I am proposing is that I record my efforts to complete games, and in turn, maxing out the achievements each game holds. My first attempt will be with Spider-Man: Friend or Foe. Currently I have 800 points and am nearing the end of the game. All the achievements are pretty strait forward; all I really have to do is max out all the playable characters and find everything in the last couple of levels. Here goes nothing... literally, these points mean nothing.

My Lack of Commitment

I love the idea of me having my own gaming site. Last year a friend of mine helped me register www.gamercurrent.com. There were a few reviews posted and not much else. One year later when it came time to pay the $10 to keep the site, I got the urge to do more with the site. Not very much happened.

I came to a conclusion, the reason I don't add anything to my site is I'm afraid it's not good enough to post. I am trying to make this website to be more than what it really is; an amateur attempt at a gaming blog. So from here on out I'm going to make a change.

GamerCurrent is going to be more of a personal gaming blog; my thoughts, my ideas, my opinion. There may be some articles about hard hitting stuff, but don't hold your breath. Maybe some day this can grow to be more like I had imagined in the first place, but for now I'm going to make the best of what I have to work with.

Let's see what happens.
